The Blackhawk Arts Affinity Group is getting together to experience the world of art from classic to contemporary over the next few months. We'll also dine on food from Afghanistan and watch a one man play.
Remember, friends are always welcome and you do not need to be part of the Blackhawk community to join us. The more the merrier!
THEATER
On Friday, October 21st, we'll be at Blackhawk Church for a performance of Witnesses, a one man play about eight people and their response to Jesus. Tickets are $8 in advance here. The performance begins at 7:30 PM. If you are interested in having dinner with others before the performance, please let me know and we can pick a place close by and then meet at Blackhawk. If you're a foodie and have a favorite, I'm all ears! Please purchase your tickets on your own though and then RSVP to me. I can save seats for us. This would be a good opportunity to bring others who are interested in the theater but not necessarily church - to Blackhawk too. I've checked out the actors work on line and this evening will be unforgettable.
ART AND MUSIC
On Sunday, October 30th, we'll be meeting for a tour of the newly expanded Chazen Museum. If you can join us, we will be meeting between 12 and 12:15 in the lobby. The tours are 40 minutes long at which point we will then explore and discover the museum. The Wisconsin Brass Quintet will also be playing at the Chazen during the time we are visiting. We should wrap up around 2:30 at the museum and then we will walk to Kabul on State Street for a shared meal or tea and coffee - whatever you're up for. For directions to the Chazen, please go to www.chazen.wisc.edu.
I am also working on a tour with a docent at the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art. Their newest exhibit has captured my imagination. It is here through January 15th. To find more, visit www.mmoca.org. I will let you know when I have a date!
Please RSVP with your plans to me and at www.wearesoultosoul.com under "EVENTS" and feel free to share this event via Facebook and Twitter with friends! If you have any questions at all, please email me at laura@thecreativecompany.com. You can also send a message on Soul to Soul.
