Friends,

"Signs" are everywhere.  Stop, caution, yield, weave, merge and go!  Yes we see them all and pay close attention to them everyday.  Yes signs are everywhere, but the most important ones we sometime miss, even when they are right in front of us.

Have you ever been at a crossroad in your life?  I was caught in the crossroad of a real struggle with people and a situation that consumed me.  The principle of the situation was one I could not control. Oh yes, I of course continued to struggle with the issue because it just wasn't right.  If that wasn't enough I continued to weave in a grey cloud of all sorts of thoughts around the issue, until I found myself frustrated, fearful and fatigued.  I prayed for peace and the strength to push aside the "noise" that filled my mind.

Have you ever turned towards fond memories?  One of mine was when I was in scouting; I loved to relax in my camping tent, just listening to the rain.  I always felt so relaxed and found great peace listening to the pitter patter of falling drops hitting the tent.  That tent provided a safe place for positive thoughts and a beautiful "noise".

One day when I was driving to work in the rain, caught in the crossroad of the struggle I have shared with you, I was beyond frustration.  With blurry eyes and all that was troubling me it was raining and I was just beside myself.  I stopped at the stop sign that was right in front of me and suddenly everything was quiet.  All I could hear was the gentle rain hitting the window. There it was rain, memories of a beautiful "noise" right in front of me.  God broke through that grey day and all my struggles with the most important sign, his grace and peace.

I could have proceeded beyond the stop sign, staying caught in all the gray clouds of my life, but thankful I did not miss the sign he was gently dropping right in front of me.

"Signs" are everywhere, let it rain, but don't let one slip by!

By for now.
